National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN) is the national umbrella organization of persons with disabilities representing more than 331 member organizations throughout the country. NFDN has been working for promoting the rights of persons with disabilities by contributing for disability inclusive development, ensuring representation of persons with disabilities in decision making process, capacity building of Disabled Peoples’ Organizations (DPOs) and other stakeholders, implementation of CRPD and disability specific national legal frameworks and awareness raising on disability rights. As the representative of most marginalized community NFDN is recognized as the pioneer and facilitator for bringing disability related policies and laws in Nepal.

अति अशक्त अपाङ्गता भएका व्यक्तिहरुले प्राप्त गरिरहेको सामाजिक सुरक्षा भत्ता सामाजिक सुरक्षा नियमावली कार्यान्वयन गर्न भनी राष्ट्रिय परिचय पत्र तथा पञ्जीकरण बिभागले मिति २०७६/१२/२६ च.नं १३७० को परिपत्रसँगै रोकिएको सामाजिक सुरक्षा भत्ता सोहि बिभागको मिति २०७७/२/२८ च.नं १५७२ को परिपत्र अनुसार आ.व. ०७६/०७७ को असार मसान्त सम्मको लागि सामाजिक सुरक्षा भत्ता शिर्षकमा बिनियोजित बजेटबाट खर्च लेख्ने गरि आर्थिक सहायत उपलब्ध गराउने भनि परिपत्र गरि अस्थायी समाधान गरिएको थियो भने सामाजिक सुरक्षा ऐन २०७५ संशोधन गरी स्थायी समाधान गरिनेछ भनी सरकारको प्रतिवद्धता आएको थियो ।

National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFD-N) is happy to share general guidelines and recommendations for persons with disabilities, caretakers, parents, Disabled Peoples Organizations, service provides, government institutions, organizations working on disability issues and all relevant stakeholders on the disability-inclusive response against COVID-19 pandemic. This guideline has been developed by NFD-N in the context of Nepal based on the organizational experience of NFD-N, official information provided by WHO, official information provided by Nepal Government and the recommendations from International Disability Alliance (IDA) on COVID-19. We expect that this guideline would be helpful for all stakeholders to address the issues of persons with disabilities in all preparatory works and responses against COVID-19 in Nepal.
