- Project Coordinator- WASH GAINS Project
Designation : Project Coordinator
Location : Bardiya Project office, Gulariya (Lumbini province) with 70% travel to the project areas
Name of Project : WASH GAINS Project (WASH for Gender and Adolescent Inclusive School in Nepal)
Immediate Supervisor: Federal Project Coordinator
Matrix Reporting to: Project Manager of WaterAid Nepal
Job purpose: The Project Coordinator is responsible to oversee the overall project management including project cycle management, advocacy at municipality and province level, capacity building of member organization (OPDs), awareness rising, networking and coordination with targeted schools and municipalities, provide technical support to implementing partners of this project including WaterAid that includes disability inclusion, accessibility, communications, reporting and M&E through the implementation of “WASH GAINS” project. S/he will act as a focal person for disability inclusion, project implementation with partners on behalf of NFDN in close coordination with federal project coordinator, WaterAid Nepal and relevant WASH GAINS project staffs to ensure project delivery as planned to get its objectives effective, efficient and cost-effective. S/he will assist to ensure that NFDN program activities in consistent with NFDN principles and approaches and quality standards, draw on good practices and lessons learned, enable all types of persons with disabilities to accomplish their rights.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the “WASH GAINS” project activities set under the project through effective planning, monitoring and budget management with high quality in line with the objectives of the NFDN strategy and road map.
- Work as the project focal person and ensure the disability inclusion and accessibility under the project supported by Water-Aid Nepal (WAN) at WASH GAINS project office in Bardiya district.
- Ensure project implementation is responsive to adhere Water Aid’s Quality programme Standards.
- Support the field team of BASE and WaterAid on disability and inclusion.
- Facilitate on disability and inclusion and accessibility with leadership quality to coordinate and influence the local governments.
- Manage and ensure coordination with OPDs members, relevant district, municipality, school and community level stakeholders and line agencies for the effective program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities.
- Support municipalities for policy review, and develop guidelines related to WASH, girl’s rights, menstrual hygiene management, children with disability.
- Lead advocacy and lobby issues related to girl’s right, menstrual hygiene management, children with disability at municipality, province and federal level government.
- Support the project staffs to ensure that program data is used for learning by holding and leading quarterly meetings with all program partners.
- Ensure proper integration of GEDSI aspects into sector specific program planning and implementation working closely with GESI officers/focal person.
- Link and adopt WAN’s core values, programming principles, strategic, gender equity and equality in programming and behaviour.
- Develop and design desired modality and process for the implementation of the activities and ensure that project progress in accordance with agreement, activities are completed within time and on budget.
- Provide technical support, essential guidelines, suggestions and directions to run WASH GAIN Project activities.
- Ensure project team, board members and other stakeholders have a clear understanding of project goals, and inspire, support and motivate them to achieve envisioned goals.
- Support the day-to-day management of the project to ensure an effective, efficient and cost-sensitive manner.
- Develop various tools and formats to collect the project data from province and national level. Develop reporting tools and format for regular reporting to the authorities of NFDN and partner.
- Support to make advocacy strategy to influence the related municipalities at local level to bring comprehensive policies and program on disability inclusion.
- Develop concept paper (one pager) of all the activities based on the approved plan before activity implementation.
- Provide (or coordinate for) training and orientations on disability rights, accessibility and WASH issues to OPDs and other stakeholders targeted by the project.
- Ensure timely planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting including quality assurance of project work.
- Make monthly, quarterly and annual implementation plan of project and activities.
- Prepare different periodic narrative reports needed for the organization and partners as guided by the project requirement.
- Prepare case studies of achievements and results and ensure that all results and achievements, outputs and results are properly documented.
- Document various disability related information and other relevant municipalities level information.
- Frequent visits to the municipalities and project sites to ensure the project implementation.
- Carry out other tasks as requested by federal project coordinator/administrative manager.
Qualification, experiences and skills requirements:
- At least Bachelor’s degree in social work, development studies, education, management or related field (disability study is preferred).
- Minimum of five years’ experience for Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience for Master degree in I/NGO environment, including experience coordinating and implementing programs.
- Experience in social sector for managing WASH in school project with a proven experience of working with persons with disabilities or marginalized community. (Experience on disability inclusion related project or inclusive WASH in school is preferred).
- Good understanding of disability context / concerns and rights
- Good experience in disability inclusion and accessibility with leadership quality to coordinate and influence the governments bodies.

- Province Manager- Lumbini Province
Name of Project : Action for inclusion
Location : NFDN, Province Office, Lumbini Province, Bhaluwang, Dang
Job purpose: The primary purpose of Province Manager is to ensure quality in program planning, designing and implementation, monitoring and reporting of project activities including advocacy, awareness rising, capacity building and networking/coordination for inclusion of all types of persons with disabilities at province level.
Major Responsibilities:
- Work as Province Manager under the supervision and monitoring of Project Coordinators and Administrative Manager.
- Lead overall management and day to day operation, monitoring and reporting of all project activities designated to province office by federal office and implemented in the province office.
- Support province office to develop programs/project proposal, organize meeting with partners, government and submit the proposal to contribute to fund raising work.
- Implement the activities designated from NFDN’s federal office which are focused to the province.
- Guide and supervise province level staff and support for program implementation.
- Support province board for province level advocacy (basically on setting agendas, preparing documents, demand letters, collecting information, organizing meetings etc.) on disability rights.
- Ensure that all the project activities are implemented according to the plan and budget.
- Coordinate and carry out advocacy and lobby work as designed in the project and designated by federal office and province board.
- Support member organizations to build their capacity in lobby/advocacy, good governance, leadership, organization management and fund raising.
- Facilitate different trainings, orientations, and workshop, interactions designed in the project and decided by the province board.
- Work to enhance of capacity of NFDN’s province office in terms of its effective management, good governance and performance.
- Work for OPDs renewal and affiliation as per related policy of NFDN.
- Support other project coordinators and project officers on project related activities implementation.
- Verify and keep all financial and program related records, reports, administrative documents, physical properties and information of office properly, safely and in organized ways.
- Support Project Coordinators for the operation of project activities as active team member.
- Arrange all meetings of various structures of the project as per the project implementation schedule and prepare minutes and necessary documentation.
- Update information in the internal website in regular basis.

- Gather province level information, OPDs movement and various information on disability as needed by province office and federal office.
- Ensure that all financial transactions, inventory and office administration is carried out in a controlled and transparent manner without any fraudulences.
- Support accountant to ensure the proper financial transaction and documentation.
- Coordinate with different internal and external stakeholders (NFDN various offices, board members, project staff, member organizations, right holders/groups, other local CSOs, media, government agencies and engage them NFDN activities/mission as far as practicable.
- Work as a focal person to communicate-bridge information, instruction and other contents in Province office.
- Ensure coordination/liaison of the NFDN work with the government bodies, other stakeholders and member organizations in the province and local level.
- Represent NFDN in the relevant forums/platforms of the assigned province.

- Project Coordinator
Name of Project: “Disability Inclusion in Local Governance” (The Asia Foundation)
Working Station: Federal office of NFDN at Ratopul, with Frequent visit
Job purpose: The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible implement “Disability Inclusion in Local Governance” project activities at the local level with the guidance from Administrative Manager to ensure project delivery as planned and get its objectives, effective, efficient and cost-effective. The PC will develop plan, implementation, monitoring, reporting, documentation and draw on good practices and lessons learned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall day-to-day management of the project activities in partnership with The Asia Foundation under the supervision and guidance of the administrative manager to ensure an effective, efficient and cost-sensitive management which includes planning, implementation of activities, monitoring/reviewing of activities, reporting and coordination.
- Facilitate for project effective monitoring and evaluation framework and provide technical assistance, monitoring and follow-up.
- Ensure that project progress in accordance with agreement of partners, activities are completed within time and on budget.
- Prepare Project implementation plan and ensure the effective Implement the project activities.
- Conduct necessary training, workshop, and orientations session as per the requirement of the project.

Job purpose: The purpose of Province Project Officer is responsible to implement the project activities at province level including advocacy, awareness raising, capacity building and coordination/networking. This position is responsible for quality delivery and reporting of the program activities in line with established objectives and results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the day to day implementation of the assigned project activities at the province level as a key focal person in coordination with Province Manager and technical support and guidance from federal Project Coordinator.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annually plan in coordination with province Manager and board and Implement the planned activities after approval from federal Project Coordinator.
- Coordinate and manage the project related activities focused by federal office to implement at province level.
- Gather province level information on disability status, OPDs movement and various information on disability as needed by province office and federal office.
- Gather the information persons with disabilities from the various Palikas and support province office to make advocacy strategy and agendas.
- Support to make advocacy strategy on the issues of persons with disabilities for the province office in the close consultation with Province Manager, federal Project Coordinator and province board.
- Collect reports, public commitments and data related to the project implementation, its progress and results in the given format and send it to federal office in coordination with province manager.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes
- Carry out regular reporting to province manager and federal office about the progress of the project activities under the planned reporting deadline and given reporting format.
- Support province committee or designated advocacy focal person from board making advocacy plan and strategies, implementation, documentation and follow-up.
- Collect good practices, learning and challenges disability issues and document them at province level and also submit them to federal office.
- Coordinate with different government and non-government stakeholders to ensure and increase their engagement and contribution in the project activities.

- Accountant – at Province office
Working Station : NFDN province offices with frequent field visits
Purpose: Accountants are responsible to provide accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows and ensure compliance with all tax regulations. Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.
Major responsibilities
- Keep the financial record of the day to day official and project related transaction (such as vouching, checking bills and supporting documents, proper filing etc.) of provincial office in the close guidance and supervision of Province Manager/ Finance officer. Keep the financial document safe and properly.
- Record the books of accounts of the financial transaction in FAMAS software on defined charts of accounts or budget code.
- Support Province Manager to prepare province budget in coordination with finance Officer.
- Prepare and maintain the project wise separate financial report as well as compile / overall financial report of the entire organization as per need.
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual account as per suggestion from Finance Officer
- Timely reporting to federal office as per requirement of project.
- Follow up installment transfer from federal office and ensure timely payments
- Tracking payments to internal and external stakeholders
- Processing tax payments and returns
- Facilitate for financial audit by providing supporting documents.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Ensure all decisions, bills, receipts and all supporting documents (demand forms, purchase orders, good receipts notes, activity reports, attendance, contracts, quotations) related to the financial transactions of each activities.
- Carry out the secretarial work such as typing reports/ necessary document, dispatching out-going letters, registering in-coming letters, filing of document, printing, photocopying etc.
- Support Province Manager on preparing reports, collecting program related information, evidences, document, photographs etc. when needed.
- Do necessary official communication (letter, email, phone etc.) according to the guidance of finance officer and board members as per the need of program and activities of the organizations.
- Do other official work as designated by the Province Manager, Federal Program Coordinator and Finance Officer.
Qualification, experiences and skills requirements:
- At least Certificate level in Commerce, management or administration.
- At least 2 years of related experience for Certificate level and 1year experience for Bachelor’s degree.
- Good computer skill in operating basic computer programs such as MS office packs with Excel, email and internet handling
- Knowledge of FAMAS accounting software is preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, coordination and team-building skills.
- Able to communicate in English and Nepali (written and verbal)
- Experience of administrative and logistics related tasks.
