The Future is Accessible Run Together 5K
On December 3rd each year the world celebrates “International Day of People with Disabilities.” In 1992, the United Nations proclaimed this as a recognized day for the celebration of the achievements of people living with disabilities across the world. It is also a day upon which the world promotes awareness of the challenges faced by over 1 billion people living with disabilities, and the role communities and societies play in accelerating the eradication of barriers to social inclusion, equity, participation and citizenship.
With the theme of “The Future is Accessible” and as a part of celebration of #IDPD2019, National Federation of Disabled- Nepal (NFDN) together with Handicap International, the Pump and other civil society organizations as well as private organizations are organizing #RunTogetherNepal, a 5K run event on 14 Dec in #Kathmandu to raise awareness on inclusion of people with disabilities and celebrate human diversity. Working towards an accessible future is everyone’s responsibility. With us, create a future which demands that people are not excluded because of their health impairments. To celebrate the 2019 International Day of People with Disabilities, we request all AIN members, as always, enthusiastically participate to “Run Together”, a social cause event for solidarity. This event is aimed at including people from all walks and dimension of life to raise awareness on inclusion so that society and their leaders have the opportunity to encourage and celebrate diversity and inclusion within workplaces and communities.
We look forward to having you, your friends, family members and contacts join us on Saturday, 14th December to run together with us.
